Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-2 loss to Kenowa Hills on Thursday. Kenowa Hills scored on a sacrifice fly by BJ Ringler and a triple by Ben Gloe in the first inning.
The Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Kenowa Hills, giving up 12 runs.
Kenowa Hills got things started in the first inning when Ringler’s sac fly scored one run for Kenowa Hills.
Dylan Mackey took the win for Kenowa Hills. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out nine. Gloe threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Jason Ledford took the loss for Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing four hits and nine runs while striking out two.
Spencer Fredricks led Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Kenowa Hills racked up seven hits. Keegan Benkhardt and Mackey each racked up multiple hits for Kenowa Hills. Jared Conrad led Kenowa Hills with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
