Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity Defeats Muskegon Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning
Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity claimed a 13-3 victory on Tuesday, despite a big push by Muskegon in the first inning. Muskegon scored its runs on a passed ball by Middleton.
Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the second inning. Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity put the pressure on, lead by walks by Spencer Fredricks, Christian Slusser, and Jarett Wall, singles by Jason Ledford, Cole Aerts, and Will Benner, and a groundout by Ryan Aebig.
Muskegon took an early lead in the first inning.
Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity took the lead for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second Ledford singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Fredricks drew a walk, scoring one run, Aerts singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Benner singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Slusser drew a walk, scoring one run, Wall drew a walk, scoring one run, and Aebig grounded out, scoring one run.
Wall toed the rubber for Reeths-Puffer Rockets Varsity. He surrendered three runs on four hits over six innings, striking out 11 and walking one.
Evans was on the hill for Muskegon. He allowed zero hits and four runs over one inning. Harris and Shanks entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and a third innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.
